The Double Trouble method keeps giving candidates in good times or bad times. During market transition periods, keeping an eye on the Double Trouble new entrant gives you heads up on next stock likely to take on leadership.

While much of the focus in last few months has been on IBD rated stocks on the blog , in reality I for my own investment find many good candidates in the Double Trouble universe. Plus by studying these candidates daily, most of the time you know the catalyst driving them forward and you can catch remaining part of the rally.

Another thing to focus on is Episodic Pivots. Out of all the method I trade, it is the most profitable and gives you very few candidates to work with on daily basis.

Episodic Pivots (includes stock priced below 5)

BGFV,Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
CUP,Peru Copper Inc (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
CXG,CNX Gas Corp (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
EME,Emcor Group Inc (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
ICGN,Icagen (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
KMGB,Kmg Chemicals Inc. (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
LIPD,Lipid Sciences Inc (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
MDVN,Medivation Inc (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
MNKD,Mannkind Corp (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
MSI,Movie Star Inc (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
NRMX,Neurochem (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
OCLS,Oculus Innovative Sciences Inc (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
QPSA,Quepasa Corporation (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
RNIN,Wireless Ronin Technologies Inc (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)
UEIC,Universal Electronics (Google Yahoo Earnings Chart)

In Episodic Pivots identifying the catalyst is most critical, there is lot of skill involved in it but if you do this everyday for months, you can figure out which ones are good candidates. 90% plus are reject but the few that move, really move. Look at KMGB, which had EP on 4 th June after earnings release. Since then in just 4-5 days it has made 20% plus move. Or look at GHM, another one of the last weeks EP with earning catalyst, up around 15% or MED up over 25%, or ESEA up over 15% since EP. Episodic Pivot also work during market corrections. At some stage I plan to trade EP as the only method.

Thanks so much, Pradeep. I bought CROX on 4/05 at 50.98 based on this list and now it's 90.97! 77% in two months! I'm doing a trailing stop of 1% below the lowest price of the last three trading days. Is that how you would play such a winner?
Of course, I've had some losers too, but on those I failed to put in a stop loss, simply because I had never placed such an order before. If I had I could have kept my losses at a minimum on those, but I'm learning.
I still don't understand this EP method. Is there a place on this site where you explain that strategy in more detail?

Thanks,
Stephen

Pradeep what do you think of JCG as an episodic pivot?

Looks like it could be worth 8pts or so.

Pradeep,

Can you please suggest some DIYs for double trouble universe. Or some other steps to slice and dice the list to learn more about them.

Thanks,
Rahul

I love when two of my stocks make your double trouble breakout list Pradeep. HRSH and NEXM. Hopefully JMBA makes it tomorrow.

I've traded ICOC and BRKR in the past as well. Both undervalued.

EP is explained under Episodic Pivots long time ago.
CROX needs tighter stops, probably to lock in profit, it is going in to blow out territory, in such cases I move my stop everyday.

Christmasfern
JCG has had no follow through buying post EP, might make sideways move before going high.

Rahul
Use 22 day scan and take less than 10% growth. Take stocks closer to recent high. Take stocks with highest 260 growth and recent entrant. There are so many ways to slice and dice it.

Paradeep, you mentioned KMGB recently. It is up over 50% in about one week. Would you be selling or buying at these levels?

thanks
Mike

I already have a position in it (bought 6/4/07), looking to add to it. It was in earnings breakout list and Episodic Pivot list on 6/04/07.
