The question to ponder is what makes these stocks make such rapid move. What catalyst precipitate such rallies.     Thank you Paradeep, for the Son of Double Trouble each evening. Tonight you mentioned in the past 6 months a large portion had an episodic event.

    The dbl-trbl scans you gave us awhile back look for episodic events for that particular day. Is there a pdf we could use to scan this list in TChart for past episodic events as you described above?

    Also, have you seen any other common characteristics that we could look for in the future?

    I am wondering if your episodic pivot research turns up defense contractors announcing new contracts, for example DCP?

    I remember when Dynacq (DYII) was a regular in IBD from 2001 until it crashed and burned into pink-sheet status. When did it come off the pink-sheets? I also find it hard to understand how it can have an EPS of 70 with a series of quarterly and annual losses? Interesting to see it back though.

    It did 17 days ago. Stocks is up since then.

    This is not IBD EPS 70 plus list. This is just plain momentum based list.
    You are right DYII was high flyer during bear market making around 1000% move between 2000 to 2002 before getting burned in scandals and manipulation.

    No you cannot do that kind of scanning. However if you put EP formula under "percent true" you can see the past EP on any stock.
    Common characteristics of EP that work are:
    * Biotech/drug approval
    * IBD EPS 70 plus
    * Earnings estimate raise
    * Sector Rally
    * Insider Buying >1million
    * New IPO
    * New Products
    * New Contracts
    * Sales Acceleration
    * Earnings acceleration
