Young turks do well on earnings

10
Recent IPO's can be good earnings candidates. Today there are a lot of them. There is nothing sacrosanct about 100% cut off, if you like you can take 50% plus. The number of stocks in your list will increase. The primary objective is to find the long term player.

pradeep,

do you recommend or use any particular free site for viewing earnings info that lists it many consecutive quarters and perhaps where i can even customize a list of stocks to compare?

thanks!

After you receive potential candidates what determines whether you will enter and how do you anticipate entering?

How do present market conditions affect your entry strategy?

Hi Pradeep,

another question... How do you determine your entry point?. For example in these situations:

a) Earnings news after market close. We see in the market after hours that the stock goes up with increased volume and for some reason we like it. We should buy after hours, before the new opening of the market?.

b) Earning news during the trading session. The stock and volumen goes up, and also for some reaseon we like it. We should buy before the close of the session or wait for the next day?.

Thanks a lot.

I look at the one with neglect. Whether it is first or second earnings acceleration.

A good earnings will lead to breakouts even in down market. Go back and see stocks which did well during bear markets. Many of them like GNSS, MTON (now INFO) had triple digit earnings.

a) I buy next day. Earlier used to buy in after hours. It can improve profits slightly.

b)I enter same day. The more you delay entering, the more it runs away from you.

PraDeep in reference to trading IPO's, i entered GMST at opening this AM. However, it had a high float. I know you always mention picking stocks with low float. But in the case of an IPO is a high float negative thing? Still learning....Thanks!

Many sites have float information on individual stocks. Try Moneycentral.

GMST is not a recent IPO.

As a general rule I like buying stocks with low floats with high earnings, they tend to go up a lot in short time.

Large float IPO's like GOOG have done well, but GOOGLE had triple digit, blowout earnings during the phase it went up.

See Dan Zanger site and his old trades. Most of them were on below 25 million float. Everyday he used to talk about low float , previously.
