X
The problem is you must act and act fast. Today I bought X (US Steel Corp.) the moment it started making a move. By the time I entered it was already up 3 dollar or so. By the time I could write an email about it to a trader friend it was up another buck or so. That is the problem with fast moving markets.
Here is what I am finding in my scans or have positions in:
ADSK,Autodesk Inc
AMAG,Advanced Magnetics Inc
CTRN,Citi Trends Inc
DVAX,Dynavax Tech
ICE,Intercontinental Exchange Inc
JST,Jinpan Internat Ltd
SRDX,Surmodics Inc

you need to use instant messenger to act fast - email is the new snail mail
interesting that X's % gain is way bigger than ATI's... both steel sector
There seems to be a buyout rumor on X, maybe this is why.
Same news in another market environment would have produced only probable a 2 or 3 dollar move. When the market enters momentum phase, moves get magnified, good earnings will give you 50% against 10% in low momentum phase.
Some stocks will break and have several days move without a break. That is why it is easy to make money in such market, once you perfect momentum method in quiter and less wilder times.
Breakways gaps and blowout moves are common in momentum extreme phases like we are witnessing. Not everyone is comfortable trading it.
