Market at different times shifts between four predominant styles: large cap, small cap, value and growth. In recent times the large caps have been doing well. Even before the correction the Dow Jones was leading. There are numerous reason for such shifts and identifying such shifts early enough can offer a profitable edge.

In recent times market has been favoring large cap growth. Large cap stocks have been flying for sometime now. The move started many months back. The small caps are in dog house.

There are many reason for such a shift. The large caps have underperformed for some time so they are catching up. Most measures of valuation show under valuation for them. The weak dollar effect. Later stage of bull market favors large cap. Flight to safety and many other reasons. But currently large caps is where the mojo is.
