Ethanol stocks were big movers

* After 7 days of green action, early morning action yesterday looked muted. But then a mini buying frenzy kicked in with broad based buy interest. The problem was most things which were running up were overextended and come a long way from their bases.
* Such panic buy after several days of green action looked suspicious, because the normal course of action at such stage is a pullback.
* The sell program kicked in in afternoon and deflated the euphoria. However volume was weak.
* When several high flier started reversing intraday , profit taking in stocks and sectors which had run up a lot kicked in. The market has been acting quite well for the past several weeks, however the leadership has been narrowly focused in energy sector. As a result, many of stocks that investors have been chasing higher and higher have became extremely extended. As a result once some selling kicked in midday holders of those recent high-flying names moved quickly to the exits to protect their gains.
* Further weakness at this stage would be good for the longevity of the rally, however deep buyers might make more attempts to run the market up.
