Why is this stock HMPR up 100% in last two days? May be because the hedge fund managers in Hampton are minting money in this momentum market. More likely because it has high short interest.

The sceptre of GS testimony tomorrow appears to be wighing heavily on markets
this post makes zero sense to me. it's up 5% because it has high short interest? what number is that? current short interest? are you implying that their earnings/financing announcements have lead to a short squeeze? or are you implying that because it's flying high there's suddenly a ton of short interest?
HMPR has 13% of float short. At current volume trends it would take 32 days for all shorts to be covered. Ranked by relative short interest it is ranked in top 2% out of 6035 stocks. In last one week stocks ranked in top 10% by short interest are making big moves. The news or earnings does not matter.
Since the stock has already made a move on upside what triggers the entry point?
e.g. CONN which has 21% short float
You have to have a method to trade and enter them. You can use first 2-5% breakout on high volume for entry.
How can I get short interest in telechart?
This doesn't appear to be available anymore in TC2k:
Latest short interest
Is it under another name? The only things with short attached to them are:
Short Avail
Short Fee
Short Rebate
Short Term Debt
No idea what those first three are.
