Conviction and flexibility

What happens next week- the quarter end periods can also be major turning points . So what if my current market thesis does not work out and the market starts to go in opposite direction next week. These are the kind of issues which one needs to deal with on frequent basis in this business. Its a constant play between conviction and flexibility. If you survive the market and are consistently profitably over a sufficient period of time, you learn to deal with such dilemmas.
I have booked lot of profit on the expectation trade of quarter end upward drift. Now most of my positions have sufficient buffer profit even if I get stopped out. I will end up giving some profits , but I am very comfortable with it. Most of the time the market goes down for few days and thickens again at new level offering fresh long opportunities.
