Market Monitor

Market rallied with number of stocks making wild moves. But 4% plus breakout levels did not even cross 200. 4% plus breakdowns were 68. On real push ups the figures tend to extremely lopsided.

The action still continues to be dominated by large caps. Large caps gapping up on earnings is the trend in this season. But large caps do not just gap and go. They simply do not have the potential to make 50% kind of moves in a month unless takeovers are involved.

The small caps are the ones which offer best risk rewards and the Russell Index seems to have stalled, so if the overall move has more upside at some stage small caps should catch fire. Keep a close watch on Russell for clues.

Not sure if you look at < $5 at all but I've spotted this PUDC, chinese coal play, breaking out on excellent volume after very strong earnings release.

I do not get OTC data. It seems this is OTC play.

There were 39 break outs on your list today and 23 E Pivots. While htis list is very useful, what other critria do you select to narrow the field and trad the most likely winners? Your guidance will be very helpful.

wondering if you have studied if the first earnings breakout or first catalyst/news on ipo's is superior to other episodic pivot plays. That is what I have focued on but I wondered what you have seen.

So Pradeep,
If we continue to see continued upside action in large caps, and Russell continues to stall, what will your reading be?
Would it mean that the rally has no legs?

Pradeep Bonde said...

This has been discussed many times before.
I for my trading select based on
1 65 day growth
2 The ones with highest yearly growth
3 The youngest member which had recently entered 100% list.

The list appears only because so many requested it to be continued. Any one wanting to trade it must replicate it themselves and have other information like 260 days growth and 65 days growth and float etc to decide.
Plus everyone is trading it on different time frames so entries need to factor that in.

I have also found the same.

Different phases of bull market have different things leading. Late phases have higher caps outperforming according to many theorist.

As to day to day trading nothing changes. Candidates continue to come in Episodic Pivot, 100% plus, IBD 200 and Virgin list. Only thing is I am using much tighter stops and not taking very large positions.
